The Chinese Government
Scholarship (CSC) is a remarkable opportunity for overseas students seeking to
pursue education in China. The scholarship is administered by the China
Scholarship Council and is primarily intended to promote multicultural and
international education. It covers all tuition fees, accommodation, health
insurance, and monthly living costs. The scholarship allows students to fully
concentrate on their education without financial stress.
The monthly stipend varies
depending on the level of studies. Undergraduate Students will receive
approximately 2500 RMB, Master's students approximately 3000 RMB, and Doctoral
students approximately 3500 RMB. A few programs also offer extra aid for books
and research. Students from all over the world are eligible to apply for this
scholarship. Age limits vary from program to program. The undergraduate age
limit is 25 years; for the Master's program, under 35; and for the Doctoral
programs, below 40. Applicants must have a strong academic record and good
physical health.

There are three types of CSC Scholarship: Type A (apply through the Chinese embassy or Government source), Type B (Directly apply via universities), Type C (CSC uses agency numbers and the student has to contact the assigned agencies. Students have the opportunity to study at top universities through the CSC Scholarship. There are
three categories of CSC Scholarship.
Type A is also
known as the Bilateral program. Under this type, applicants apply directly via
the Chinese embassy located in their home country.
Type B is
renowned as the Chinese Universities Program. Under this type, Students apply
directly to Chinese universities affiliated with the CSC to enroll.
Type C is
named as Provincial or Independent Program. In this type, students apply to
universities according to each institution's policies.
