The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship
is provided by the Hungarian government to international students from all over
the world in partner countries. Pakistani students can also get benefits from
the scholarship program. Pakistan is the partner country of Hungary, and
Pakistani students can apply through the Higher Education Commission (HEC)
official portal and the Stipendium Hungaricum official portal. Students
must apply through both portals to complete the application process.
This Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship is considered a fully funded
scholarship, as it provides a monthly stipend, full tuition fee
coverage, accommodation, health insurance, and waives the
application fee for the process. The stipend amount varies by study level. For
bachelor's and Master's students, 43700 HUF is provided per month, and
for PhD students, they receive 140000 HUF for the first four semesters
and 180000 HUF for the following four semesters.
In this program, students can select
from a wide range of subjects, as it encompasses various fields, including
computer science and IT, natural sciences, social sciences, arts and
humanities, business and economics, and legal studies. Pakistani students need
to appear in a written test arranged by HEC (HAT or USAT). The minimum passing
marks for this test are 50%. For English proficiency, IELTS or TOEFL is
not compulsory, but some universities may require it. So, it's better to have a
language test. It will increase the chances of the application selection.
After completing all the selection requirements set by HEC, such as a strong academic background, minimum 50 percent marks in the written test, and being selected in the federal quota of the program, an interview or test will be conducted by the Hungarian authorities.
