Scholarship Details

The France Excellence Eiffel Scholarship Program is a prestigious initiative funded by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. It aims to attract international students to pursue a Master's or PhD degree in France. This Scholarship is designed to support future worldwide leaders and promote academic excellence. The Scholarship offers study in two major domains: Science and Technology (Engineering, Mathematics, Biology, Environmental Science) and Humanities and Social Sciences (such as Law, Economics, Political Science, and French Language & civilization). Only non-French nationals are eligible for this Scholarship, and applicants must be nominated by a French university.

Beneficiaries of this Scholarship will receive a generous monthly stipend of €1200 at the Master's level and €2100 at the PhD level. This Scholarship also offers international travel, national transportation within France, health insurance, and support for accommodation. Moreover, you must keep in mind that tuition fees are not covered, so you'll need to check with the university offering admission. In addition, many universities charge low tuition fees, and some institutions may choose to waive them.

Beyond the financial support, this Scholarship opens the doors to advanced education, research opportunities, and a world-class network in France. It also offers long-term professional opportunities across Europe and beyond.

Tailor your CV/resume for an academic context

  • Elaborate research experience, relevant coursework, conferences, languages, and international experience.

Secure strong recommendation letters

  • Select references who know you well and can speak to your academic and leadership potential.

For PhD scholars, the proposal must be clear, feasible, and aligned with the host university's strengths

Demonstrate language skills

Start early & communicate with your host university

  • Build a strong relationship with the international office or professors.

Common Mistakes that Can Ruin your Eiffel Scholarship Application

Weak or Generic motivation letter

  • Sending a broad or copy-paste letter shows a lack of genuine interest. Toiler it to your program, goals, and France especially.

Unclear career plan

  • Ambiguous goals like helping my country won't impress. Be specific about your future role, the impact you aim to have, and how France fits into that plan.

No Coordination with French University

  • You can't apply directly for the Eiffel scholarship; only French institutions can nominate you. Many applicants miss internal deadlines or don’t confirm support.

Incomplete or Unorganized Documents

  • Missing transcripts or poor formatting signals carelessness. Ensure documents are complete, translated, and well presented.

Wrong program or Degree Level

  • Applying for ineligible fields (such as non-priority subjects) results in an instant rejection. Always check the official eligibility criteria.

Underselling Yourself

  • Being too modest or unclear about your strengths weakens your case. Highlight achievements with confidence and specific results.

Ignoring the Scholarship's Purpose

  • Eiffel is not only financial support; it promotes French global influence. Elaborate on how your education will construct future ties with France.
