The Central China Normal University is situated in Wuhan, Hubei province, China. It was established in 1903 and is a public national university under the administration of the Chinese Ministry of Education. The university campus consists of more than 120 million square meters. Also, it is recognized as among the list of 211 National Education Priority Projects. The university is also one of China's first higher institutions to offer doctoral and postgraduate programs, undergraduate programs, and full-time adult-education programs.
For three consecutive years, the national social science research work of Central China Normal University(CCNU) stood in the top 10. For four consecutive years, its social science research work by the Ministry of Education was positioned in the top 6. Also, the university positioned No.8 in the Fourth Social Science Prominent Scientific Result Award, and a significant number of research results of CCNU have won prizes; among them are two first prizes of the Natural Science Award by the Chinese Ministry of Education and six first prizes of Hubei provincial Natural Science Award. The university has collaborated with over 100 universities from more than 70 countries. It has a library with a total size of 39,357 square meters. There are currently more than 22,000 students studying at the university, including undergraduate students, graduate students, and postgraduate students. The academic staff of the university consists of 700 professors and 4,000 teaching staff. The Central China Normal University is one of the first universities in China to offer doctoral and postgraduate degrees.
Those students who wish to study at Central China Normal University can apply for a Chinese Government Scholarship and Confucius Institute Scholarship. The scholarships are covering tuition fees, accommodation fees, a living stipend, and medical insurance fees. The living stipend varies depending on the program. These scholarships are applicable to master's and doctoral programs.
