Carnegie Mellon awards the Carnegie Scholarship to qualified first-year students entering the program. Carnegie Scholarships were given to middle-income students who were academically brilliant and capable of small to no need-based financial help. No application beyond admission to the University is compulsory to be considered for this Scholarship, but students must also complete the CSS and FAFSA profile to be eligible.
Recipients are alerted in their financial support grant letter. All financial aid forms must be on file before a Carnegie Scholarship will be applied to the student's account. Carnegie Scholarships are only available to entering first-time freshmen at the point of admission. Dependent students of full-time Carnegie Mellon faculty and staff members receiving tuition reduction are not qualified for this Scholarship. Students relocating from another college are not eligible for a scholarship review.
This Scholarship is offered for master's and postgraduate programs. For master's programs, it is a two-year program, and for PhD programs, it is 3.5 years.
