National Scholarship
A national scholarship is a government scholarship that covers the tuition fee and other expenses. The amount of the scholarship is 3,433,000 won/semester. Every month (regular semester), students get 145,000 won. A full tuition scholarship is provided to the students. However, there are some limitations for students who have poor academic backgrounds. If a student's GPA is 2.74 or higher, he/she will receive a full tuition scholarship. On the other hand, if a student's performance is below 2.7, a half-tuition scholarship will be provided to the student.
1. KAIST Business Trip Scholarship, KPF (KAIST Presidential Fellowship
This is the type of scholarship that supports the best and most
extraordinary students in high school to grow as KPF students. It provides
comprehensive support, including Professor Byeonto's Mentoring Program
Training, university summer session, church, and necessary expense support, URP
program participation, research fund support, networking program, and
leadership program.
2. KAIST College of Science and Technology Dean’s Scholarship Student PSS (Provost Scholarship Student)
As the name indicates, this scholarship is given by the dean. Upon admission, students receive an undergraduate training scholarship of 3 million won.
3. Contract Department Scholarship System
3.1 Samsung Semiconductor Scholarship
This scholarship is provided to students admitted to the KAIST Department of Semiconductor Systems Engineering. The scholarship grant includes academic incentives and living expenses. Furthermore, it supports a total of 40 million won.

Scholarship Coverage
- The KAIST scholarship package includes various benefits, like waiving
off the full tuition fee.
- For the master’s, the tuition exemption is for four semesters.
- The stipend amount is 350,000 KRW monthly (Masters) or 400,000 KRW
monthly (doctoral).
- The combined master's/PhD (MS-PhD Integrated) is for ten semesters.
- For the PhD program, it is for eight semesters at least.
- The stipend may vary by research project participation.
- National Health Insurance premium is also given to the students.
- Usually, the coverage and rate of the scholarship are announced with the final admission decision.
Eligibility criteria
- Applicants must have a GPA of 2.0 out of 4.3
- For the graduate level, students should hold an undergraduate result
enrollment
- The Seoul campus's GPA requirement may differ from the above
requirement.
- Citizenship requirements are mandatory. For example, applicants should
not be citizens of Korea, and Korean citizens who have a double citizenship are
not allowed to apply as foreign students.
- Students who apply for master's discipline via the International graduate Admission cycles KAISt
- Korean ethnicity international students, even birthplace, must satisfy one of two demands: the first one is that the student's parents are Korean natives, and the second is the student must receive his whole basic and high-level school study exterior of Korean at the equivalent level of those given in Korea. Korean ethnicity foreign candidates who do not avail one of the situations cannot apply for international enrollment rather they must only for Korean enrollments.

How to Apply for the KAIST Scholarship?
Step 1
- See the official website of KAIST and apply
- Fill application online
- finish the application for master's enrolment according to the
guidelines
Step 2
- Must check the whole data for any mistakes and save the file
- Remember that after paying the application cost, it will not allow modification of the application, and the cost will not be repaid
Step 3
- Pay the application fee
- Application cost submission can be done by credit card, and the application cost is KRW 80,000 or 80 USD
Step 4
- Get print of the online application form
- Remember that the application serial number should be saved for more steps and to check the finalized enrollment decision.
Step 5
- Please send a hard copy of the online application with all supporting
information to the master's Admission Team at KAIST.
- Submit Document: Send the application package via recorded post mail
- Students can also visit the office and submit the documents in person.
- Recommendation letters will be received electronically via the online
application guidelines, so a hard copy is not required.
